Muhammad Ivan began his journey at Baitus Salam in November 2022 with very basic knowledge of Islam. Like other new converts, he started by learning how to perform prayers, recognizing the hijaiyah letters, and reading Iqra’ one by one.

However, with extraordinary determination, he studied diligently and eventually succeeded in reading the al-Quran fluently. Today, he is not only an imam and muazzin at Baitus Salam but also continues to deepen his knowledge of tarannum recitation independently by following Qari recitations on YouTube. His interest grew into a dream.

In 2024, that dream became a reality. With confidence, he participated in the selection of Selangor’s new Muslim representatives for the National Quran Recitation Competition. Through his effort and talent, he was selected and, even more proudly, won third place in the Mahrajan Amal Islami Mualaf National Level 2024.

Muhammad Ivan’s journey proves that hidayah, when embraced with knowledge and sincerity, can produce extraordinary individuals who illuminate the religion with humility and devotion.
