Founded in 2014 by the Selangor Zakat Board, the Bait Al-Mawaddah Senior Citizens Complex is built on a 3-acre site in Kampung Jalan Kebun, Section 30, Shah Alam, to provide shelter and care for asnaf elderly in need.
To provide care and treatment for the elderly to ensure their well-being and quality of life.
To safeguard the welfare of residents in the senior care centre.
Muslim – Applicants must be of the Islamic faith.
Fakir Miskin – Must be a registered fakir or miskin asnaf with the Selangor Zakat Board.
Aged 60 and above – Elderly refers to individuals aged 60 years and above, as recognized by the Social Welfare Department (JKM).
Able to Take Care of Oneself – Admission requires that the elderly individual is physically healthy, not bedridden, and able to manage self-care.

Eligibility Criteria for Bait Al-Hasanah
Children of fakir/miskin asnaf who are eligible and verified by the District Zakat Executive or District Operations Manager in the year of intake.
Aged 10 years and above, with priority given to children aged 10 years (Grade 4).
Specific Requirements
No disciplinary or criminal records.
Physically and mentally healthy.
For children not currently attending school – a support letter from the District Operations Manager or Sector Manager of the Distribution Office is required.

To implement Part V, Section 26 regarding the protection of mualaf, and the care and teaching regulations for mualaf (Selangor State) 2009, amended 2013.
To serve as a protection centre for mualaf who are rejected by family and relatives after embracing Islam.
To provide shelter for mualaf from external threats, including threats from family.
To act as a short-term centre for Fardu Ain guidance for mualaf.
To provide vocational knowledge to mualaf for better socio-economic opportunities.
To help reorganize the emotional and social direction of mualaf for a better life.
To preserve their aqidah (faith) from being misled by certain parties.
Must be a Malaysian citizen.
Full-time participation in programs/activities/classes at Baitus Salam for 1 year.
Within the mualaf call period (5 years).
Good health and free from infectious and chronic diseases, such as AIDS, and free from drug or alcohol addiction.
No serious mental health issues.
Free from legal cases (criminal/court/etc.).
Residents must apply voluntarily and be willing to comply with the rules and laws set by the Baitus Salam management.
